The Career Development Center is looking for experienced juniors and seniors to share their advice with freshmen and sophomores in our Q294 (Basic Career Development) course. If you've had experience with student organizations, volunteer work, internships, and/or study abroad programs, this is a great chance to inspire other students! Peace Corps Application Deadline for November Interview Dates

Peace Corps Regional Recruiter Ken Surdin will be coming to the IU Bloomington Career Development Center to interview candidates for Volunteer positions on Thursday, November 15th, 2007. Additional interview times will be reserved for Friday, November 16th. In order to schedule an interview for one of these dates, a completed application must be submitted by Thursday, November 1st, 2007.

The Peace Corps is looking for Volunteers from a variety of backgrounds to fill positions in education, agriculture, the environment, business, health, IT, and community services. After receiving intensive language, cross-cultural, and technical training, Volunteers serve overseas in a developing country for 2 years. Living expenses are covered, and at the end of their service, Volunteers receive a readjustment allowance and access to a number of great career and educational opportunities. If you would like to be considered for Peace Corps Volunteer positions leaving during the summer or early fall 2008, we strongly recommend that you submit your application by the November 1st deadline.

To start your application, simply go to www.peacecorps.gov and click on the "Apply Now" tab. If you are interested in applying, but you may not be able to meet the deadline, please contact IU Peace Corps Campus Representative Brett Kuhnert via e-mail at peace@indiana.edu, or phone at 812-856-1864. US Department of State Information Session

Interested in a career in foreign affairs? Like to travel?

Mr. Brian Flora, a former foreign service officer now working as a recruiter in our region, will be visiting IU to discuss careers in the U.S. State Dept. (both civil and foreign service) with interested students. Information Session will be held on Wednesday, September 26th at 4:30pm in the SPEA Atrium, Second Floor of SPEA Building. Open to all interested students!! The State Dept. is especially interested in recruiting minority students, also visit Mr. Brian Flora at the government and social services career fair from 11am to 4pm in the IMU Alumni Hall.
